the end of an era :-(

Good bye my love qmyR4wPI1o0 good-bye

You´ve been my faithful companion for 13 years.

You never failed me, not once.

You´ve always been there for me when I needed you.

I just sold my wee car, my independence, my one and only 😦

We bought it when our middle son was born, 13 years ago, that makes my car 16 years old now.

He (the son, not the car) was born with club feet and we had to drive to the hospital nearly every day for about a year.

But the car was more than a means to an end, it was my independence after a long spell without a second car, it felt great having it.

Unfortunately, it is now beyond repair (albeit my neighbours seem to think differently).

So I took it off the road last Friday and sold it to my neighbours as a scrap car yesterday. (truth to be known, it ran out of TUV 4 months ago but…it was sooo cold here ;-))

I am going to miss you – especially in the mornings, on my bike, cycling into work!!!

I am your average wife,mother,friend,employee....a bit lost in my world, a bit crazy at times but always good for a laugh - I think ;-)

  1. This reminds me of my first car that I bought when I was 16 years old. It was a 1991 Plymouth Duster and was bright teal. It had a moon roof and leopard seat covers. lol. I saved $1200 dollars and begged my mom to let me buy it. It lasted me pretty long but I should have listened to my mom when she told me to wait and save some more money, but I have a lot of good memories with it.

My very first car 25 years ago lasted exactly 10 min. On the drive home from the dealer it cut out in the middle of a junction and thereafter every 2nd day until I got rid about 10 months later- complete waste of money. Oh the pleasures of being young and not listening to ones parents 😉
