Resume of a weekend

3 years ago my friends and I decided that we would make it a permanent fixture to go clubbing on Carnival Saturday.

My pal arrived at approx. 19:00 hr and we got ready together. She wore a pirat´s costume and I had bought a gypsy´s costume. We had loads of fun, just getting ready, drinking red Vodka/Energy and by the time our other friend and my colleague from work arrived, we were in stitches laughing.

This continued until we received a phone call from her son, about 2 min after we had ordered a taxi to take us to our local over 30´s club (yes, we are well past the over 30´s stage but hey, who´s to know in the dark anyway :-)) Anyway, said son told us that my pals aunt (same age than us, honest), was waiting outside the club, which was closed.

Not a problem we thought, loads of places to choose from. However, we do have the tendency to be somewhat undecided whilst in the taxi, we have been known to drive round the round-about for 5 to 10 min before we make up our mind and yes, we have very patient taxi drivers here in Germany.

Said and done, after a couple of changed minds resulting in a couple of u-turns we ended up in a very nice place and danced the night away.

So far so good.

On Sunday, I was extremely laid back, i.e. tired which I have to admit, kind of irritated my husband a bit, but hey, we are only “over 30´s” once a year.

On Monday, it is tradition to meet at our place, then take the kids to see the Carnivals procession and to finish off at ours again for some soup. Incidentally, I had some red vodka and energy left and unfortunately, with it being my home town, everyone kind of hands out free drinks – NOT A GOOD IDEA, I know now.

I went to bed early, feeling ok, woke up at 22:00 hr when hubby went to bed and that was it – wide awake for the rest of the night, and I mean WIDE AWAKE.

Have you ever tried publishing a post via mobile phone? I did last night, or should I say in the early hours of the morning (one can only google so much and even Facebook is quiet at this time).

Needless to say, it does not work, not with my mobile anyway, I was well miffed, all the work of typing with my left hand thumb, only to find that I had to abort the publishing twice.

By 04:00 in the morning I gave up, made myself some breakfast and served my husband coffee in bed, chirping Good Morning. – He was not amused (again) – hmpf I wonder why??

And the moral of the story??

A: Lay of the energy, not a good idea when one´s got to work the following morning.

B: Make sure you´re not responsible for opening up the office, no matter how good the excuse would have been, colleagues unable to work because of the active security system will not be impressed.

I am your average wife,mother,friend,employee....a bit lost in my world, a bit crazy at times but always good for a laugh - I think ;-)
